Might need to fix some typos - Kaya

  5. You will be now be asked to select a location to install the program. Select anywhere you like and press the “Install” button.
  6. Launch the program. Your anti-virus may interrupt. If it does, allow it to continue.
  7. Press the cog icon in the top left to access the launcher settings.

You may need to fill out the TF2 Directory path. If the setting are correct you can skip this.To do this, you can use the same method as the manual install listed below or try to find it automatically.

  1. Right click on Team Fortress 2 in your Steam library.
  2. Click “Properties”.
  3. Click “Local Files” tab.
  4. Click “Browse Local Files”.

For Windows, you can now left-click the address bar to copy your TF2 directory path. Please note this is NOT the same as the “tf ” folder in the manual install.

An example of this address is (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2) This may not be the same for you, so please check.

Once copied, you can close the launcher settings, select the Creators tab on the left and press install.

Congratulations, you have installed the launcher and the asset pack. You are now ready to play.

  1. Download the asset pack from this link. It should appear in your downloads folder.
  2. Once the asset pack is downloaded, extract it to a folder on your desktop using an extractor such as WinRAR or 7ZIP.
  3. Keep the extracted files open in a new window. You must now access the “tf” folder. You can access it by doing the following.
    1. Right click on Team Fortress 2 in your Steam library.
    2. Click “Properties”.
    3. Click “Local Files” tab.
    4. Click “Browse Local Files”.
  4. Once inside the “tf” folder, open the “downloads” folder.
  5. With both windows open, copy across everything from the extracted files into the “downloads” folder.
  6. If it asks to merge or override, press yes. This will normally happen if you are updating, or if previous existing files have been found.

Congratulations, you have manually installed the asset pack and are now ready to play.

The Creators website is the main method of using the Contracker, buying new items with your earned MannCoins and accessing your Creators inventory to equip unlocked apparel and weapons.

You can access the site through both outside of TF2 and in-game using the command !c if you have HTML MOTD enabled. If you do not have HTML MOTD enabled, you can enable it by typing 'cl_disablehtmlmotd “0”' in console.

Before you can use the Creators website, you need to log in through Steam. Click on the “Sign in through Steam” button in the top right of the website. This will take you to a Steam login page to enter your credentials. As good practice when logging into Steam through third party websites, always check the website connection is legitimate by clicking on the Padlock icon normally located in the top left of the browser, next to the address bar. You should be able to see that the site is signed by Valve Corp [US].

Once you are logged in, you will now have access to the Contracker. Here you can earn MannCoins and custom weapons by completing contracts. To get started with a contract select it and click the green “Activate” button, just like with the normal Team Fortress 2 Contracker. Here you can read what you need to do to complete the contract and what actions award certain points.

While the bonus objectives provide more points, they are not required to complete the contract. It is important to know that unlike Team Fortress 2's original Contracker, you don't need to finish the round before the contract progress will be saved.Reach 100 cp, finish the round and you will be notified in-game that the contract is ready to turn in.

While logged in, you can now access the Creators Store where you can spend your hard-earned MannCoins. You can either try your luck with a keyless crate, or buy the item you want outright. So long as you have enough MannCoins, simply left-click on the item you like and confirm the purchase.

Clicking on the “Items” tab on the top of the website will take you to your class loadout screen. From here you can either access your Inventory or edit an individual class's loadout.

When equipping a wearable, please understand that unlike a weapon it will equip on top of that slot. Any Valve wearable you have already equipt will still be under it, so you may have to remove them manually. If you don't, this will cause clipping as the two wearables clash. This is merely advice though, so if you prefer to make monstrosities out of your loadouts. Go wild.

In the inventory screen, you can see everything you have bought and unlocked. You can drag items around and order them how you see fit.

When equipping a custom weapon, it replaces a specific weapon in your Valve Inventory. For example, equipping the Wasp Launcher will replace the Liberty Launcher inside TF2. In order to use the liberty launcher again, you will need to go back into your Creators loadout and unequip the Wasp Launcher.

By right-clicking, you can do the following actions.

  • Go to Loadout: Allows you to equip the item from the inventory.
  • Vote for item on the Steam Workshop: Open's the item's workshop page to allow you to vote on it.
  • Scrap: Scrap the item to receive MannCoins. Note this action cannot be undone.
  • Delete: Delete the item outright with no added benefit. This is mainly used for items that have no value or cannot otherwise be scrapped. Note this action also cannot be undone.
